...Nobody likes being oversold on inflated promises they have no way of knowing whether they are tru or not...So I will educate you, the consumer, on how not to be misled...I am the answer guy.

Well, here it is, my first real crack at blogging. Thank you for checking it out. It has taken me a while to get this going because, quite frankly, air conditioning isn't too exciting for most people. So why post? What could I possibly talk about that would hold your interest (and by now you are certainly close to thinking the same thing.)

How about saving you some real frustration as well as some real jack, would that interest you? Sure it would. Nobody like’s being taken for a ride; being the victim of scare tactics and if you don’t buy whatever their solution is you’re the worst parent ever; or being oversold on inflated promises that you have no way of knowing whether they are true or not.

So here is my mission. I want you, yes you, to have all the information you need to make the best decisions for you and your family. I am tired of seeing good people being taken advantage of. So I will educate you, the consumer, the homeowner, on how not to be misled. I will cover anything you want to know about in the air conditioning industry. We’ll cover energy efficiency, duct cleaning, radiant barrier, whatever. And why it is that when you have your system checked up, you’re told you need 500 bucks worth of work done on a system that was working fine before they got there. Well stop it. Stop throwing your money away. From here on out, if you get taken, it’s your fault. Either you didn’t check with me first, or you did and you didn’t listen or believe me. I am the answer guy. Heck, even if it’s not in the A/C industry, if you think it’s a scam, ask and I”ll see what I can find out.

I’m still trying to figure out the first lie I want to pop, maybe the health effects of high efficiency filters, I don’t know, we’ll see. Until then, you may email me any questions you have at oceanac@cox.net and I’ll jump right on them.

Thanx for stopping by. I am the answer guy, and I am on your side.

New Tax Credits and Rebates Add Up Making It a Perfect Time to Replace or Upgrade Old or Faulty Air Conditioning or Heat Pump Units

MESA, Ariz. – (Oct. 22, 2009) – A cool economy has created some hot deals for Arizona homeowners who need to replace old or faulty air conditioning or heat pump units with new energy-efficient models.

Homeowners could get a triple play of savings on the purchase of qualified heating or cooling systems including up to $1500 in federal tax credits, manufacturer rebates of up to $1,200, and utility company rebates of up to $575.

“I’ve never seen deals like this in my life, and many homeowners are taking advantage of it!” says Mike Pickard, owner of Ocean Air Conditioning, a heating and air conditioning business in Mesa, Ariz.

Replacing your old unit with a new energy-efficient unit can also reap big rewards in the long run, saving homeowners an estimated40% in cooling and heating costs per year. That means that if your average air conditioning bill is $300 a month in the summer you could save as much as $120 a month!

The federal tax credit is available for homeowners who place qualifying systems (for air conditioning or heating) in service between Jan 1, 2009 and Dec. 31, 2010.

In addition, the SRP Cool Cash rebate program gives residential customers a $400 cash rebate for replacing an existing central heat pump or central air conditioner with a new, high efficiency heat pump or air conditioner. The Cool Cash program requires that customers have the system replaced by a licensed contractor between May 1, 2009 and Dec. 31, 2009.

Ocean Air Conditioning has been servicing the Valley for more than seven years, and seen a major shift in the industry, especially in consumer’s compassion for the environment.

“When I started the business 23 years ago, people were not worried about whether their air conditioning unit was eco-friendly, or if they were wasting energy,” said Mike Pickard, owner of Ocean Air Conditioning. “That has completely shifted. Our customers now list environmental effects as a major concern when it comes to air conditioning or heating.”
